Regulations

The European Commission has put forward plans exempting small companies from having to file audit reports with national authorities.

The government should look at postponing the introduction of new business laws that could cost small firms up to £800 million.

An employers’ group has claimed that there is no need for the government to create new laws which would add to the health and safety duties of company directors as the present system is working well.

New legislation, giving employees the right to request time off for training, will not be extended to include agency staff.

The government’s Apprenticeships, Skills, Children and Learning Bill has been published, representing the first complete overhaul of apprenticeship legislation for nearly 200 years.
